The Man Behind the Bench
With almost four decades at the workbench, my path led from commercial shops to refining my craft under mentors like Tony McEwan. I have long valued the insights of artisans like John Gander and Ralph Rawlinson, often learning that the best techniques are shared over a quiet tea and honest conversation. I lead these workshops to invite others into the unique satisfaction of hand-tool woodworking. For me, there is profound joy in shaping timber by hand, and I believe that any student, regardless of experience, can find a sense of calm and accomplishment in this enduring art.
